The Asher House Animal Sanctuary Tour

Because of my dear workout buddy and friend, Sue, who donates to this nonprofit organization, I was invited as a guest of Sue’s, to come visit The Asher House in Oregon, to see how her donations have helped to allow Lee Asher, his fiance Sarah and their 75 employees make a difference to help so many animals have a second chance at life. 175 dogs (including wolf hybrids), cats, goats, horses, miniature horses, donkeys, pigs, llamas and birds. A handful of other donors gathered and up over the hill, Sarah and Lee come into site as tiny specks on the hillside, with a pack of dogs that stampeded down the hill and greeted us with the happiest hearts, smiles, barks and wagging tails. It was a scene out of a movie and the laughter and joyful coos to greet these babes felt like what I would imagine your entrance to heaven would be. Lee and Sarah graciously greeted each and every guest with so much gratitude and big hugs and asked if were ready to go on a pack walk! If you follow Lee on Instagram, you know how beautiful and profound that so many dogs, big and small, join together to go on a walk. Not only do they go on one walk, they go on 8 walks a day! All the dogs stick together and don’t wander off. It was incredible to see this amount of dogs, just walk together in peace and with smiles on their faces.
